Technology Stretch

After getting through the WebCT module (finally!), I began to reflect on this semester. I am taking two classes, EME 5208 and EME 6807. The research class is not really a technology class, but so much of our world (including that of research) has become technology driven, and therefore, it is technology based. Between the two classes, I have really been stretched in my knowledge and use of technology. It is really the first time that has happened. Although I am not a "digital native" as one might say, I am relatively young (28) and have both a "techie" dad and husband. My father is a media specialist at the high school level and has served as the schools technology coordinator. I have been around technology for a long time; however, I feel that technology is advancing so quickly that education isn't keeping up. Because my life entrenched in the world of education, that is where I learn technology. I wonder how much of this cool technology will be used in education. Will wikis rule? Will there be class blogs? Time will tell, and I can try things out in my own classroom next year to see how they work. It is an interesting time to be in education!
